Sri Lanka Blood Transfusion Service won the ISBT Award

The competition was announced in 2011 at ISBT Congress held in Taipei, Taiwan calling for applications. Each submission was evaluated on all aspects that accounted for the improvement of relevant transfusion service. NBTS in Sri Lanka proving its capability won the ISBT Award for developing countries 2012.
The certificate presented by International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) was to accept by Sri Lankan team headed by Dr. Ananda Gunasekera, former NBTS Director and now the Deputy Director General of Medical Services along with present NBTS Director Dr. Vijith Gunasekera at the 23rd ISBT Congress in Cancun, Mexico.
