'Avengers,' 'G.I. Joe' trailers roll during Super Bowl

As Super Bowl commercial breaks have become events in of themselves, there's no better time to roll out new trailers for the year's anticipated films.

Clips for "The Dictator" "Act of Valor" and "The Lorax" were among those to pop up during breaks from the football field, but fans were truly amped after seeing a new trailer for Marvel's "The Avengers."

As we saw in October, superheroes Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye have united to help battle Loki and his army, who are trying to take over Earth.

As Tony Stark/Iron Man says in the new clip, Loki might have an army, but the Avengers have the Hulk. The fight begins May 4.

We also got another look at Disney's March 9 release, "John Carter," a sci-fi adventure starring Tim Riggins Taylor Kitsch as the titular "John Carter of Earth," who finds himself battling alien creatures among a people in need of a savior. And then there's "Battleship," which, like the trailers before it, still looks a lot like "Transformers: High Seas." Although, this time Rihanna gets a new line: "Boom." "Battleship," which also stars Kitsch, arrives May 18. Whereas the earlier trailer for "G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation" began with shots of Channing Tatum, who also starred in the first film, and focused on more of the plotline, the Super Bowl clip kept it to just The Rock reciting some Jay-Z...with a little Bruce Willis thrown in at the end. On June 29, you can call him "Joe."
