MTV/MBC can telecast 2012 London Olympics

The Supreme Court today set aside a Commercial High Court interim injunction issued earlier this month preventing MTV/MBC network from telecasting the 2012 London Olympics.

The Supreme Court was made in response to an appeal field by MTV/MBC against the Commercial HC order.

The High Court order was made after Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) said it had sole rights to telecast the games and sought an interim injunction preventing MTV/MBC from telecasting the games.

However the Supreme Court overruled that High Court directive and said MTV/MBC could telecast the games as well.
