Embilipitiya PS Chairman UPFA today joined the UNP

The Embilipitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Wijaya Witanage (UPFA) today joined the UNP to contest the forthcoming Sabaragamuwa Province Provincial Council election representing the UNP from the Ratnapura district.
UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe handed over the appointment letter to Mr. Witanage today.

Speaking at a news conference Wijaya Witanage said he had decided to join the main opposition, as he was finding it difficult to serve the people while at his present post.
“I might not be able to carry out large-scale development projects while in the opposition, but with our individual capabilities, our leadership and our creative thinking we will be able to empower the people,” he said.
